We are very proud to announce that the Italian version of blinko was released on web (WAP to be followed soon)!

blinko will switch automatically from English to Italian depending on your location.
If you live abroad but want to use blinko in Italian, click on “Language” on top of the page.

You are now free to invite all your relatives and friends who do not speak English and comfortably communicate with them sending unlimited free SMS from the web.

As of today, blinko is supported also by HelloTXT.
HelloTXT lets you update your status and read your friends’ status across all main microblogging and social networking platforms at once.

Flagged as “Summit on Mobile Social Networking”, the event took place as an open conversation with bloggers, web 2.0 experts and David Weinberger on the following topics:

- Why Mobile Social Networking matters
- Will mobile transform Social Networking?

Keynote speaker David Weinberger facilitated the conversations in Milan and Madrid with an interesting speech on “The Elevator Effect”:

A picture tells 1,000 words!

Do you want to communicate in real time with all your friends? The photo status update is the easiest and quickest way to share important moments with your friends as they happen.

How to use the photo status update feature from web and from mobile

1) once you log into blinko, you will notice a box on the top left corner, asking you “what are you up to?” and just below a link saying “Upload a Photo”

2) change your status by typing what you are doing within the box, then click on “Upload a Photo”

3) browse through the folders on your computer until you select the picture you want to upload, then click on “upload”

4) click on “Share it!” and your photo status update will be visible to all your friends!

5) from there on, just click on “Update this status” to post a new status update.

Of course this feature is much more interesting directly from the mobile: it works exactly in the same way, by clicking on “Post your photo update” within the Home Page. Check put the process here.

Show your friends what you are doing in real time, right while it’s happening!

By invitation only

blinko is currently in beta and invitation-mode only, which means that you will need to be invited by someone already within blinko to be able to join in.
Once you have received an invitation via email or sms by one of your friends within blinko, joining is really easy.
Just click on “Join now” on blinko homepage on web: at the end of the first registration screen you will find a field called “Invitation code”. Enter the code you have received via sms or email and you will be able to complete your registration! Make sure to click “next” and go through all 4 registration screens.

On the other hand, if you have not received an invitation, you will not be able to register BUT you will be able to leave us your email address so that we can let you know as soon as blinko will be open to everyone!
Should you encounter any problem during the registration process described above, please make sure to let us know either through the “Report a problem” page or by writing to our Support email address.
